"Anxiety" by Angels & Airwaves Single Review
So, Love (the movie) came out a few weeks ago, and the new song “Anxiety” was featured at the ending. I did not go and see the movie in theaters, but definitely plan on doing soon when it is released online and on DVD. Anyways, this song is great. It’s awesome. The way it begins (with all the instruments fading in and building up to the intro) it just plain brilliant. Tom Delonge has always been good with song intros and endings, especially with Angels & Airwaves, but also with blink-182. The intro sounds eerily similar to the song “Starlight” by Muse. You don’t think so? Go check it out, right here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4P3SHXQEpRU
That is not to say that Tom ripped off the intro by any means. I’m just saying it reminds me of that Muse song, which is cool because I really like both bands. The song has an amazing chorus. It completely changes the vibe of the song, picking it up and making it more aggressive, all while keeping an amazing catchy melody going. They really hit the jackpot with this song. It is one of their better works for sure. I can only hope that both the new blink-182 album (Neighborhoods) and the new AVA album (Love Part Two) will continue in the direction that this song paves.
